These posts take a long time for me to write. Longer than I want them to. I’ve got to find a way to condense it down to get it out every weekend, so look for some updates soon.

Coffee

I find it hard to talk about good coffee every week, but since it’s been a couple of weeks, I have some good notes.

Someone in the business recommended this place, and I have to admit I’m impressed. They source their own beans from Italy, which made me concerned that it would be super dark coffee, but the Cortado I had was amazing. I also got a sweetened latte to test it and was impressed with that, too. It wasn’t just all sugar; worth checking out.

This place is a pop-up from my favorite roasters from last years Hanukkah Coffee Box. I’ve been trying to make a pop-up and meet the team behind this roaster for years, and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. They are awesome. Their Salt bread was also great, but I got a Choco Berry “Funky” pour-over that did taste like both chocolate and berries.

Sometimes I work in Hope Valley, and that means that I drive past this place like crazy. I’ve been there three times now, and it is a cute place, and I want to like it, but the coffee just isn’t that good. Don’t know why I keep coming back. I guess I keep hoping I will find the one thing that is good.

Work

I’ve been doing a lot of different projects for work; here are some of them:

Authentic Auctions

Did a new redesign of the homepage here. That is a pretty tame way of saying I moved it off self-serving and onto a database-backed service. The long-term goal is to build a bunch of systems that work for the project and let us better serve our customers without requiring a redeploy every time we add a new car.

It still feels like an AI site, though, so there is definitely some design work to do there.

Rollin Renovations

We are still doing a bunch of work in the construction space. We have built a couple of decks, built out a door jamb, and also started work on installing some windows and remodeling a bathroom. Learning a lot and having fun with many different projects.

Smaller Projects and updates.

  • I’m working on a coffee van project, tentatively called Way Point Coffee Lab. Still working on the details; more to come as it evolves.
  • I’ve finished the tolia website and am excited to be moving forward on that.
  • I’m working on a website for a friend’s dog and cat concierge services.
  • Looking at building websites for several friends’ therapy practices.
  • I’ve started working with the RWU Cheerleading team on some of their tumbling and cheerleading, and this has rekindled my interest in my cheer book.
  • I took some photos of the Nor’easter this past weekend and want to publish and edit them.
  • Zack’s Cracks is now up to 4 episodes, and I’m working on the 5th, but I’m not sure when I’ll have time to do it.
  • I went to the Maine Acro Weekend and got to do some fun acro, but I didn’t get any pictures of me doing acro.
